SRST on LAN

Hi All,

I have callmanager with 2600 gateway to PSTN, which is not the default gateway of the LAN.

On the network configuration of the CP7960 (using DHCP):

Call Manager 1 10.0.0.2 Active

Call Manager 2 SRST 10.0.0.1 .

1. 10.0.0.1 is the default gateway of the network (MSFC) and not the voice gateway, so how it get there???

2. when losing connection with CCM, the phone is looking for the default gw (10.0.0.1) and not the voice gw (10.0.0.3).

what is wrong?

Thanks in advanced, Kito.

Re: SRST on LAN

You need to do one of two things. Either make the 2600 the default gateway and let the routing protocol sort out where to send packets, or put a voip dial-peer on the default gateway pointing to the 2600 running SRST. I'd guess that the first option is more likely to work than the second.

Re: SRST on LAN

Hello,

Why not placing your IP Phones and thus your gw to PSTN in a separate VLAN (if possible)? That keeps out other routers for the phones.

Bye,

Rob
