Stand-alone Music on Hold Server

CallManager v3.1(1), I would like to have a separate server perform the Music on Hold duties. Thought I could put in the original CM v3.08 CD in a new server and install just the Cisco IP Voice Media Streamer application. The install fails with "this is not a Cisco MCS server". Also can't just execute the CM v3.1(1) file, it fails with the same message. The Win 2K server we want to use is a Compaq 380 (same as the Cisco 7835).

This should work fine with a DL-380, but the server needs to be built with Windows 2000 using the Operating System installation CD that came with the CM3.0(8) CD. Using that OS installation CD will cause the CallManager to recognize that you are using a supported platform.

Also note that you will definitely need to install CM3.0(8) first, then you can install all the appropriate patches and perform an upgrade to CM3.1(1).
