Static on Voice Messages

Unity 3.1(2)<br>TSP 3.1(2). I understand this was available for a short period. <br>CCM 3.1(3)a<br>Exchange 5.5<br><br>This is a UM environment that users have been reporting that when the play back voice messages they have a lot of static in them. They are reporting this to be happening extensively. They are not reporting static between prompts just on the voice messages themselves.<br><br>They are also reporting a long pause before the voice message is played back to them….<br><br><br><br>

First think I would check is if the message has static if you play if back over the PC speakers. I would see if it were only internal calls or external calls or maybe both. I would also check and make sure the system is recording in a supported codec per:
http:// http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_unity/whitpapr/codecs.htm

Depending on how that all worked out I might get a sniffer trace of a call with static with NAI's Sniffer Pro and contact TAC. We have tools to turn the Sniffer Pro .cap trace into a WAV file.
