Suggestions for basic Call Accounting

I'm needing to implement call accounting for Call Manager. I have CAR/ART installed and it seems to collect all the right data, but the built-in reports are a little weak. I'd like to be able to query for specific calls, and/or generate on the fly reports for specific users and departments that give not only the overall usage, but also show the individual call breakdown in a simple readable format. Do I just need to dig deeper into CAR? The canned Call Accounting packages seem geared toward much larger entities with multiple pbx's.

I don't think it is a "simple readable format", but you can search by specific user (or ext) for all calls in and out by time and date. It is under "CDR Search by User Extension".

The main problem with this is that there's no customization possible. I need to be able to look for a specific call, or a specific group of calls, say long distance.

I am having the same problem that you, i try to obtain my report via SQL Queries.
