Supervisor has failed to start voice monitor

I tried to use supervisor silently monitoring agent/customer conversation, clicked "Start Voice Monitor", got an error message" Supervisor has failed to start voice monitor".

I have setup the span on Catalyst 3550.

Any idea?

Make sure you have connectivity between the Supervisor and Voice monitoring server. Check the Logs on Supervisor Desktop, enable Debug on supervisor and voip monitoring server.

Is you spanning working properly ?

Explain your setup a little bit.

Is your VoIP Monitor Server Service is running on the CRS Server. Normally you will get the error message you have mentioned if the Supervisor desktop is not able to login to VoIP Monitor Server, the service should be runnning.

The error message is not due to spanning configuration.

I just had this same problem, It ended up being a sound card driver on the supervisor computer. Reloaded the driver and it fixed the problem.

Are you using 2 NICs on the PC/server for Voice monitoring? The 3550 does not support spanning traffic on the same port the PC/server is using as its LAN port. With a 3550 doing the PSAN, you should have 2 NICs.
