Everything was working fine. Shutdown CCM and Unity. Started CCM, then tried to start Unity, but Unity wouldn't start and showed the following errors in Event Viewer.

4/25/2002 9:15:35 PM AvMiu_MC Error (8) 517 N/A UNITY The description for Event ID ( 517 ) in Source ( AvMiu_MC ) cannot be found. You mentioned that you restarted both Unity and Call Manager.

If Call Manager hadn't completely come back up, and Unity was trying to register its ports, you might see this behavior.

Once Call Manager was ready for the device registrations, it looks like everything came up ok.

That stuff about "local computer may not have DLL files..." just means you are looking at the event log on a machine that doesn't have (same version of) Unity installed, so there is no way for the event viewer to look up the actual error text.

Thanks for your reply Scott!
The CCM was already started at 9:07PM, 8 mins before the last Unity restart failed( 9:15PM). The Unity restart which succeded was done at 9:43PM (about 36 mins) after CCM was started. Between 9:15PM-9:43PM no attempts to restart unity was made.
The reason you gave sounds good to me, I have one doubt though. Is it possible there is some problem with the CCM that it was not responding to the port registration request by Unity (i.e.,can the CCM be slowed down to the extent that it takes about 10 mins to come up completely), or there might have been some network problem stopping the requests on its way?

Thanks,
Partha
