Testing sdk's samples without having a CallManager ?

Hi,

Is it really necesary to have a CallManager in order to configure my 7970 IP Phone and test those samples from SDK only using CallManager Simulator? In SDK's docs it says that:

"In order to get these services to work with your Cisco IP Phone, open the Cisco

Call Manager Web Administration page. Click the 'Feature' link and choose the

'Cisco IP Phone Services' option.".

Is there any workaround to do this step without a real "CallManager" ?

Thanks,

Chris M.

Re: Testing sdk's samples without having a CallManager ?

Hi guys,

I finally managed to create a XML service and run it on my 7970 phone. For newbies like me:

1. Installed "Cisco IP Phone Services SDK"

2. Configured IIS

3. Opened CallManager Simulator, cleared "Device Load" field (the phone tried to load a new firmware - we don't need this), wrote "http://my_pc_ip/CiscoIPServices/ServicesMenu.asp" in "Service URL" field, left the other fields empty.

4. My ServiceMenu.asp, stored in "c:\CiscoIPServices\ASP\ServicesMenu.asp" looks like this:

<%@ Language=JavaScript %>

<%

Response.ContentType = "text/xml";

%>

SERVICES

Make Your Selection...

Logo

http://my_pc_ip/CiscoIPServices/logo/logo.asp

Second service

http://my_pc_ip/CiscoIPServices/logo/logo.asp

5. On the 7970 phone, I went at "TFTP Server" pressed "**#" to unlock it and filled it with my pc ip.

6. Rebooted the phone.

7. Went to services.

That's all! :)

HTH,

Chris Miron
