Time in PC versus time on Phones

I was under the impression that since Voip phones run via the network, the phones would always show whatever the network time shows on PC's. But, I'm told the phone time is off by about 5 minutes later than the PC time. Can anyone enlighten me about this?

Thank you - Nat

Phones will use the CCM server (subscriber) time. Synch the CCMs to the same NTP source as the PCs and you will have them in agreement.

Hi Nat,

Just to add to Tom's good answer, here is a great doc from Cisco to help you get this set up;

How To Configure Time Synchronization for Cisco CallManager

From this good doc;

Hope this helps!
