Tomcat Manager Log In

Hi, Procedures for configuring Extension Mobility and IPMA indicate the need to log into the Tomcat Manager.

None of my server or MLA logins would work I kept getting a HTTP 401 error - unauthorized.

Found Bug CSCec02788 which describes this issue but I am having no luck trying to work around. Here is a copy of the tomcat-users file I am attempting to modify:

C:\Program Files\Cisco\TomCat\conf\tomcat-users.xml contains the following

information:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

<tomcat-users>

<role rolename="manager"/>

<role rolename="tomcat"/>

<user username="tdpoa2l" password="1234567" roles="tomcat,manager"/>

</tomcat-users>

I am still getting the same error. Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Tomcat Manager Log In

To troubleshoot this issue, could verify following :

Open IIS admin

Browse to Default Website > Cisco Tomcat

Right click > Properties

Directory security Tab > Anonymous access > Edit

Anonymous access is checked?

Click Edit > Which is user is listed here?

It should be CCMUser (1)

Could you reset the password for this user?

First do this in Computer management > user > select CCMuser and reset

password

Secondly change password in IIS settings (1) for Cisco Tomcat

Stop/Start IIS.

Re: Tomcat Manager Log In

Hello,

I did the procedure you stated, but I am not still able to log in and I get the HTTP 401 error.

Many thanks

Re: Tomcat Manager Log In

http://ccmhostname/manager/list

Use the server Administrator login and password (NOT the Domain Administrator of course, nor the CCMAdministrator one.)

Do not modify the .xml files underneath the Cisco\Tomcat\conf directory. Logins are generally handled by IIS, which uses a modified Jakarta connector to transfer requests to a (modified) Tomcat (cisco_isapi_redirect.dll).
