Just a question on this, If anyone with a subscriber account dials the Voice Mail DN and has an account, they get their subsciber menu to enter a password. If I set up some incoming lines that do not have a subsciber account, then they transfer from that line to Voice Mail DN they get the opening greeting.

How can I accomplish this when a user that HAS a subscriber account tries to transfer into Voicemail so they can transfer a caller using the #2 option?

Meaning that I want them to be able to transfer to an extension that does not have VM...so they can then transfer to another extension to use the #2 option.

------------------------------
Michael Perbix
Lower Merion School District
Telecommunicatons Specialist
Re: Transfer to Opening greeting instead of Subscribe
Couple ways I can think of to do this, but I think probably the easiest way would be to setup a phantom phone and have folks dial this number to access the voice mail system (i.e. instead of hitting the messages button as normal). HAve this dummy phone setup to forward right away into the Unity system. Setup a routing rule in the forwarding rules list at the top that indicates if the forwarding number matches this dummy phone's ID, dump the call right to the opening greeting.
This rule will only trigger if calls come forwarded in from that dummy phone so the rest of the calls into the system will continue to behave normally...
You could also get cute with a special dialed number mechanism and go with a routing rule in the direct calls list but this seems like more trouble to me.

the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
