turn MWI manually on


is it poosible to turn on the MWI-Lamp on manual from another phone than the one which the lamp should go on? What does Unity send to the CCM to turn on the MWI Lamp?

The calling party number that dials the MWI on/off number is the number that gets the light lit or turned off. So if unity needs to light the light for extension 1234, then it will place a call using that as the calling number.

Oh, and if you're talking about manually seting the MWI lamp from an IP phone (not unity), you can do that with translation patterns (i.e. set up a translation pattern that will be the MWI on number for that number, then translate the called party number to the real MWI extension and the calling number to whatever that phone whose light you want to turn on. Then when you dial that number in the translation pattern, it'll turn on that phone's light). If you're talking about MWI for multiple extensions within unity, you can just go to the subscribers->Messages screen and add the extensions that you want that subscriber to control.

You can. Find the mailbox you want to extra notification to come from, and go to "Messages". At the bottom you'll see the section for "MWI Extensions." Just click "Add," punch in the new extension is the second field, and click the save button.

Make sure the extension you're adding doesn't already have a mailbox or isn't receiving MWI from another mailbox. You can cause the MWI lamps on the phone to get really out of sync in a hurry.
