1) I needed to do the forward-digits command to send digits to a fax server on the VG224 so it knows which DID the fax came in on. The only way I could get it to work is with H.323 instead of using MGCP or SCCP. Is there a way to get it to work using MGCP?
2) Now that it's set up and inbound calls are working, how do I get it to work outbound? Does H.323 not allow it to lookup destination phone numbers? The 2851 router gateway connected to PSTN, CCM 4.1 acting as the gatekeeper, Cisco phones with extensions, and VG224 are all on the same LAN and should be able to talk to each other directly. How do I make it so when a line on the VG224 dials a cisco phone extension, it connects? How about dialing PSTN lines through the 2851? I tried doing a dial-peer .T command to act as a default gateway, but it didn't work. :(
1) Can you be a little bit more detailed? Whay is it exactly that you are doing? MGCP and SCCP should work fine.
2) Can you post you 2851 GW configuration? Do you have an H.323 GW configured on CCM with the IP of the 2851 gateway? Do you have the router defined as an H.323 GW? You definitely need dial-peers "pots" and "voip"
sample H.323 dial-peer config:
description Voice LAN
encapsulation dot1Q 7
ip address 10.x.x.x 255.255.255.0
ip helper-address 10.x.x.x
h323-gateway voip interface
h323-gateway voip h323-id Miss_GW
h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr 10.x.x.x
dial-peer voice 91 pots
description Long Distance Calling and default incoming
I've got the VG224 to be able to dial other items by pointing to the CCM as the dial-peer. The only remaining problem is that audio is not transporting properly between the VG224 and the phones or 2851.
