Unable to autenticate when using the Address Book Synchronizer

I hope somebody had this experience before.

Tabsynch works fine from my PC (I can see SSL authentication happening and then information being transfered from DC Directory - Port 8404).

Nevertheless, I installed this in 3 more PC and authentication always fails. I'm obviously using the same user and password that works fine from my PC.

When sniffing the traffic, I can only see SSL packets between the PCs and the CCM server.

Is there any seed or key that's needs to be created for this? Do you know if Tabsynch related to MS Internet Explorer? Is it using any API from it? Or is it an independent application that also uses SSL to authenticate?

Any ideas are welcome....

Thanks

This may be because of name resolution from other PCs , try out Ip address or make entries in Lmhost files.

That's correct.

I created a TAC case and that was the solution.

Lmhosts was not required.

Just the host file or dns server to include the CCM server name.

You can find the hosts file here

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

OR

C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

depending on which OS you have
