I reccomend using the UnityUninstall utility off my web page. Lots easier than me documenting all the steps to do it manually...

I am running Window2000 and Exchange5.5 with SP4. When I run the uninstall program it ask for me to install the ADS.EXE. I have tried to install the one that is with the NT40 uninstall and it complains about the INI file. What do I need to get this uninstalled

Thanks

Hmmm... it's not letting me bind to the directory using the port number pulled out of the registry (i.e. the one you entered when installing Unity). I've seen this on a couple of sites that have multiple servers where some are using different ports for LDAP. The ADSI interface doesn't seem to handle this smoothly, which is annoying. I need to figure out a way to get around this.

you can ping me at "lindborg@cisco.com" and we can try to get this one resolved.

Hi

If you run the uninstall unity, it will remove unity but will it remove also the unity folder in exchange and the custom attributes of Unity in the exchange 5.5?

Tnx

If you use the UnityUninstall tool of my web page it will take care of the folder and all the custom attributes off the subscribers etc... the details of what's removed and what's not are covered in the help file (README.HTM) that installs with the tool and is also covered on the tool overview on the web page.

Do you run the uninstall utility on just the Unity server or do you have to run it on every server that the Unity folders have been replicated to? Is downtime required on other servers in the site to perform an uninstall using the utility?

It's only necessary to run the uninstall on the Unity server itself... the removal of the Unity folder will replicate around automatically to the other Exchange servers in the site.

You'll need to restart the Unity server itself, it wont be necessary to restart any other Exchange servers in the site for the uninstall to complete properly.
