Unity 2.46 on Windows 2000

I want to install Unity 2.46 on Windows 2000. There is no existing domain, nor any exisiting Exchange site. This will be a voicemail only server. Do I need to set up Win2k as a domain controller and install Active Directory, or can I do without it?

You'll need to set it up as a DC with AD in order to get Exchange to install. Make sure you change the LDAP port # in Exchange.

See the install guide for specific instructions.

Also see the Readme.html file on the Unity Disc 1 CD in the Documentation folder.

I forgot to specify it but I am planning on using Exchnage 5.5. In that case will I need AD?

You can't install Windows 2000 as a DC without installing Active Directory. Exchange 5.5 won't install unless you have a DC.

Be careful. Do not setup any two-way replication between Exchange 5.5 and the AD. That can mess up a 2.4.6 Unity system.
