Unity 3.1.3 - Exchange Server Is Offline Message


This is a new install of Unity 3.1.3 in a W2k AD/E2k environment.

When a subscriber dials in to the unity server they hear 'the exchange server is offline' message.

The unity server is configured to point to an E2k server acting as a bridgehead server, while the mailboxes are hosted on another E2k server behind the bridgehead.

Can ping both E2k servers using DNS name and import the subscribers from E2k with the correct Exchange server populating the subscriber profile.

Not seeing any errors in the event viewer though re exchange or anything else to do with Unity.

Going to try the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Active Voice\AvWm\1.00\Diag Level to 1 change suggested in the forums.

Any thoughts?

Adding the additional Wedgie MAnager (AvWM) log level would have been what I suggested - if you're getting that message when a subscriber signs in, Unity believes that person's home Exchange server is off line and will not attempt to log into it since the MAPI timeout can be _very_ long and result in a burned port.

Make sure the Exchange messaging and directory services on that subscriber's home store are up and running (this is what the avWM service is pinging on that box to see if it's available).
