Could somebody suggest me, how to create the mailboxes on Unity 3.1.3.We dont have a license for message to text feature, so I cant give the exchange alias and all. If I tried to create a subscriber account, it quits with an error saying that "could not create an object, because of not having enough licenses to do so" The integration of the Unity server with call Manager went through fine and Im able to get the welcome greetings through the IP phones.
Any valuable inputs on this would be highly appreciated.
1. how many licenses do you have for subscribers? Run the Key Dump utility in the tools depot (or the unity program group) and see how many "voice mail users" are used and available. If you have available licenses then move on to #2...
2. make sure the Class of Service you're using to create these subscribers doesn't have a feature checked that you're out of licenses for. Look on the "licensed features" page in the Class of Service section of the SA. The most common problem I see here is the "view mail for Outlook" option being checked by default when there are no licenses for it. Uncheck anything in the COSes that shouldn't be there and try it again.
Thanks for your info. I have re-installed the system and it works fine now. The problem is I hope the last time installation didnt go through well.
Could you please advise, how to go about customizing the key functions on IP Phones with Unity? We have another Voice mail system in production already, with which the users are familiar with the key functions.
You can set this using the Advanced Settings Tool (you can always grab the latest version off the CCO downloads page or AnswerMonkey.net). The option in there is called "Set key mappings for the message retrieval conversation".
