Unity 3.1.5, Can we globally disable unified messaging?

We are doing a new installation of Unity with Call Manager. The customer purchased Unified messaging, but want to implement features in phases. In the first phase they want the following 1) they do NOT want voicemail appearing in their inbox and 2) they do not want to be told they have "x" number of saved messages when they dial in to retrieve voicemail, and have the text to speech function start reading back emails.

Are there global settings that will allow us to stop voicemail from going into their outlook inbox, and can we disable the text to speech function.

Unity doesn't "synch" voice mails into mailboxes such that you can just turn it off here - we actually use Exchange or Domino as our native message store - as such messages are dumped right into the user's mailboxes.

The only way to do what you want here is to create additional voice mail only mailboxes in Exchange that are hidden from the address book for each user you want to have VM only on - when they're ready to migrate to UM you can use the Micgrate Subscriber Data tool to do this (it moves all the subscribers settings and messages to another email box - in this case the one they're using for their corporate email).
