I know there have been several similar posts regarding the error: illegal configuration: Server list cannot be empty in Active Directory Configuration; A runtime error has occurred: Line 2030: error: 'Get.ServersBy Name(...)' is null or not an object.
I have checked all the registry settings (GC has the correct server, the account that AvDSGlobalCatalog is running under has full control to DirectoryConnections) but still get the error.
This can also be a DC server/configuration error since we're asking the OS to resolve a server by name and getting an error back - be sure you check the DC references in there as well and make sure name resolution is working form our box...
I know there was a bug ID for this, because I hit it on ours. Try stopping and starting IIS and WWW services. Then go in. If it clears, then you hit the same bug. I'll see if I can dig up that bug ID for you.
