Unity 3.1.5 Failover Not Routing Calls

I have been trying to get the operation of failover to be completely seemless to users. Although the call fowarding rule has been set up, during failover when the user accesses Unity, they get a generic login. TAC suggested that we build TSP ports on the failover server using different CiscoUM- naming conventions to allow independant registration by the Unity servers. Now when you put the primary in forced failover mode and try to access voicemail, you only get reorder. Any suggestions?

Thanks in the extreme.

Steve

Re: Unity 3.1.5 Failover Not Routing Calls

Hi Stephen

I assume you have already as you mentioned correctly created the additional rules by following this doc:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/788/AVVID/subscriber-logon-failover-sys.html

The way the CCM needs to be setup and the naming convention that you need to give to the ports are described in this doc:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_tech_note09186a00801142b5.shtml

This is for 3.1 but in 4.0 it's still identical. I just had a look as well at an internal system and there we had eg this naming convention:

For the primary server we had a prefix of CiscoUM1-VI and for the secondary a prefix of CiscoUM2-VI.

Kind Regards

Ullie
