Unity across WAN from CallManager

Due to issues beyond my control, I may have to try to install a Unity 4.0 server at one location across a 2M WAN link from the CallManager cluster. The reason is to keep Unity with the Exchange server. In the Unity Design Guide, Network and Infrastructure Considerations, it states that this is the best distributed deployment for Unity. However under bandwidth requirements it states Unity requires a 100M full-duplex connection to CallManager. Does anyone knows if a 2M link would be sufficient or is anyone running a setup like this.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Unity across WAN from CallManager

Yeah that data really needs to be removed because it is not a true requirement. We have tons of customers that deployed Unity over a WAN from CM with success.

Think of each Unity port as an IP phone when allocating bandwidth. You probably will want to put Unity is a g.729 region and you need to make sure QoS is configured just as you would for a phone.

Hope this helps,

Keith
