I think for lab testing purposes only, (not supported for production!) sometimes folks will install Unity & CCM in their own VMWare or VirtualPC session. Same box, but two completely separate machine instances.
If you are hardware constrained, that is probably your best bet.
Anybody installed Unity Connection in VMware or on an unsupported server? With Unity 4.x, you are pretty flexible on whatever you want to install it on, and CCM requires a few registry keys to be added. But, with Unity Connection, it looks like it needs something else from the Platform Configuration Disc, which I haven't figured out yet. If anyone has figured this out, let me know. This would obviously be for a lab environment only.
