Unity Disaster Recovery Planning

What is the procedure for obtaining a new dongle in the event of a disaster?

Does Smartnet help us get a new security key?

We are rotating our backups off site and have extra servers at another location but how can you get Unity restored if the original dongle was destroyed by fire or flood?

The procedure would be to call TAC and explain what has happened. The replacement of the dongle is being rolled into the SASU contract (software support) since the dongle controls the software. It is not part of the SmartNet server support contract.

Be sure to put this information at your back-up location so that a new key can be sent to you more easily: key serial number (dongle) format 10xxxx or 30xxxx; Unity PAK/serial # format UNTY-nX-CQ-nnnnnn; and your SASU contract #.
