I'm trying to eliminate the worry of Unity being unavailable for certain call flows. Currently, I have some DN's that have translation patterns to a CTI Route point based DN which forwards directly to voicemail. On the Unity side, I do a call routing rule to throw the call into a call handler. I'm looking for a way to handle the call in case of unity being down.
Since you can't add a CTI Route point to a Line Group, I'm not sure where to look.
If possible, you can setup a failover unity server. That is the best option. But again, you have to pay for the licenses.
There is another option, if manual intervention is ok. you can forward on failure to a different DN like a phone. Since your CTI ports are not registerd, it will forward calls to the phone, instead of the unity server.
You can forard your unity port CFNA to an attendent.
