Yes on both counts in Unity 3.1(5) and later.

If you pop open the Advanced Settings Tool in the tools depot you'll see near the bottom a set of options for "Record Termination Warning" that lets you turn it on and decide how far before the end of the recording time to beep to warn them. This feature only works with Call Manager integration, Dialogic drivers don't support it.

You'll also see an option in there for "Full mailbox check prompt" - with this option on outside callers leaving messages for a subscriber will not be allowed to leave a message if that subscriber's mailbox has reached limit #2 (cannot send or recieve). This check is not made for subscriber to subscriber messages (they will get an NDR back telling them the message could not be sent).

As far as the warning for nearing the end of a recording time limit, I believe it's actually a "beep" that the they'll hear for the warning. Additionally, I think this will only be available for CCM (not legacy) integrations.

Unity can announce when the mailbox is full. There's an entire white paper dedicated to the full-mailbox issue here...

Unity 4.02

Is there anyway to provide anything other than a "beep" when users are nearing the end of the message. Is there a Unity prompt that tells them they are nearing the end.

Check the Advanced Settings Tool - There is a "Record Termination Warning" setting that let's you specify the wave file to play for this feature.

Do you have a simple doc that run through this. It looks easy enough. The problem I am seeing is that I don't have a "record terminate" WAV file. From reading the instructions you need this file to point at.

Also the Advanced tab turns on Record Terminate. Where do I set the parameters to play this message when subscribers are 30 seconds from the end of their aloted time.

Thanks

The Advanced Setting Tool found in the Tools Depot allows you to set all of the Record Terminate warning options, and includes a pretty good explanation of each configuration setting. As for the wav file, if you wish to play something other than a beep tone, then you must provide your own wav file.

Yes, you must provide your own wav. file to play. You can set this up using the Advanced Settings Tool in the Tools Depot. Here are the details which can alos be found and set in the Advanced Settings tool.

Record Termination Warning - Warning WAV File location

SOFTWARE\Active Voice\MIU\1.0\Initialization\Record Termination Warning Location

This is a string value that is the full file path to a WAV file Unity will play for the record termination warning feature if activated. If the key is missing or empty Unity will simply play a beep tone to the user. Be sure the file path is complete including drive letter, for instance:

"c:\commserver\recordterminate.wav"

Unity will not check to be sure the WAV file is present for you, if it's not there the prompt will simply not play and an error message will be logged to the application event log. There is only one WAV file that can play here so there is no ability to play different record termination warning messages for users in different languages.

Two registry keys for this feature are offered. You can adjust the number of milliseconds before the end of the recording before the user is warned and how long a message has to be before the warning will be active. This feature only works with CallManager integration at the moment. Dialogic does not support this.

This registry key is found here:

SOFTWARE\Active Voice\MIU\1.0\Initialization\

The key name is "Record Termination Warning Location"
