Re: unity installation

Was Unity on the Exchange server that crashed or just exchange? If it was just exchange read on.

First when rebuilding the Exchange server you need to make sure you name it exactly the same as it was before. Both the domain and the name of the server. If the name of the server is different you can change the partner exchange server in Unity. But if the domain is different then you will have to completely re-install Unity from scratch in order to move it to the new domain. This is the only way it will be supported by TAC.

Once you have the install completed of the new Exchange server you will need to run the ADSchemasetup.exe off of the Unity DVD 1. This will extend your AD schema. make sure you create all of the installation accounts needed in AD also. You will need to grant administrative privledges to the unity administrator on the Exchange server. After this you can run the permissions wizard which will update permissions on the exchange server.

Once you have that done you will want to make sure that you are pointing to the correct mail store from the Unity server. You can run the Cisco Unity Message Store configuration wizard for that.

I hope this makes sense
