unity messaging and mail servers

Sir,

Among the mail servers available in the market which mail server is the most suitable one to integrate with unified messaging? (unity). For unix based environments such as solaris, hp-unix etc people will not prefer to have a mail server like exchange and its not possible too.

Considering all these aspects please let me know which mail server be the best one to work with unified messaging(unity). List of popular mail servers are given below.

1- Lotus notes

2- sun one messaging server

3- exchange server

4- sendmail or post fix

5- mirapoint messaging server

An early response will be highly appreciated.

Regards

pradeep

Re: unity messaging and mail servers

Unity unified messaging can't work in a UNIX based environment. Unity supports Exchange 5.5, Exchange 2000 (Exchange 2003 soon) and Lotus Notes R5. Of these, only Lotus Notes can run on a UNIX platform however Unity requires DUCS (a lotus built unified messaging component) to connect to Notes. Lotus doesn't not support DUCS on the UNIX platforms therefore Unity doesn't work with them.

Hope this information helps,

Keith
