Unity Number Of Users

I need a unity server for 5500 users. Can anybody tell me how many Unity servers I need and what hardware platform.

It depends if it is Unified Messaging or Voicemail Only. If it is Voicemail Only, it also depends if you intend to have the message store on box or not. This doc provides a list of the supported servers and their limits for all three scenarios:

I have voice messaging only and message store will be onbox. There is no hardware in the supported list which supports 5500 voice messaging onbox.

Yeah that isn't going to be a supported solution. You will need to move the store off box.

Does it mean that exchange needs to be off box. How about the storage space and hardware platform recommended for above requirement.
