Unity Slow to answer

we started experiencing a 15 second delay from the time Unity "picks Up" the line to the time you hear the Unity auto attendant voice. Any idea what might cause an issue like this?

This was in an earlier thread but the link to the answer is broken. What was the cause for this?

Re: Unity Slow to answer

There are two distinct configuration settings within Cisco Unity that can cause this problem. Check and correct one or both of the following:

Solution 1: The Cisco Call Manager is not currently selected as the active switch file.

1. Log on to the Unity SA (System Administrator).

2. Choose Switch from the left hand column (if you have a multiple integrations, choose IP Switch.

3. Verify that the Cisco Call Manager is your active switch type.

If your Switch setting (for single integrations) or IP Switch setting (for multiple integrations) is set correctly, proceed to Solution 2 below. If it is not set correctly, complete steps 4 – 7.

4. For Cisco Call Manager integrations, change the active switch type to

· Manufacturer = Cisco

· Model = Call Manager

· Switch PBX Software Version = 3.0 (1) or later

· Integration = Tapi

5. Click on Set As Active

6. Save your changes by clicking on the disk icon pictured on the top right corner of this screen.

7. Reboot the Cisco Unity server.

Solution 2: (*Only applies to Cisco Unity with Multiple Integrations, also sometimes referred to as Dual Integrations).

In addition to having the correct Switch type configured in the Unity System Administrator, ports must be also be explicitly defined.

1. Log on to the Unity SA (System Administrator).

2. Choose the Ports page from the left hand column.

3. Under the section titled Port Table, you will see a section called Port Assignments. By default, ports are not assigned to a specific switch. That must be done manually. Your configuration will determine how this should be setup.

4. Select the port numbers that correspond to the correct switch.

5. Save your changes by clicking on the disk icon pictured on the top right corner of this screen.

6. Reboot Cisco Unity.
