Upgrading from old MCS 7835 to current MCS 7835 (G2)

- We recently had to make the decision to replace a original MCS 7835

(the one based on the Compaq DL380) with the current shipping

MCS 7835 (the one based on the Compaq DL380 G2).

Is it possible, and would it be supported, to simply move the drives

from one server to the next, and then as Win2000 loads, allow the

new types of available devices to be discovered and loaded.

Based on a trial migration, this appears to work out when the new

MCS 7835 had no information stored in NVRAM or on the Array

Controller.

I would assume that the above procedure is not the recommended way of doing it. Would it be possible, sure. Would it be supported if you had issues, who knows. A cleaner (i.e. supported) way to do it would be to do use the backup and restore utility within CallManager. Load up the new server using the images and then restore using the procedures below:
