I'm trying to upgrade the OS on my cisco phone servers but am unable to find the version that lets me go from 2000.2.7sr8 to anything higher. I find several 2000.4.XXX, but when I try to upgrade it fails becasue I'm not on a high enough version. How do I get from 2000.2.7 to a higher version and then to 2000.4.XXX?

You have to follow the upgrades in order.. you can't jump from 2.7 to 2.4. It's a long process, but you have to do each OS upgrade to get to the one you want.
Hope this make sense.

I agree, but from this page http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cmva-3des the next available upgrade from 2.7 is 4.1sr5, which says it is not compatible with 2.7. How do I go from 2.7 to the next compatible version? I can find no download or documentation on the cisco site.

You can upgrade from 2000.2.7 to 2000.4.3a and then apply the latest SR for 2000.4.3a

Milan is right.
Check this link
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/osbios.htm
You can get the web exe for 2000.4.3a and once that is complete, you can apply 2000.4.3a sr4.
