Upgrading to win 2003

1) If we were to upgrade our domain to Windows 2003, where exactly in the registry do we have to change the GC and DC settings,

(2) Is there a spot in the registry or will Cisco be mondifying Unity such that we can have secondary GC and DC settings within the registry.

Re: Upgrading to win 2003

to be clear, we don't support Unity running on a Win2003 server, but we can be in a Win2003 domain - not sure if that's implied here or not.

1. The DC/GC settings in the registry can be found at:

HKLM\Software\Active Voice\DirectoryConnectors. There will be entries for the AvDirMonAd and AvDirMonGlobalCatalog in there (DC and GC respectively).

2. Unity 4.0(4) will have a dynamic failover mechanism that will allow for cascading to secondary DC and GC servers should the primaries become unavailable.

Also to be clear...

If you upgrade a DC/GC from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 does not mean you have to make any changes to Unity. Unity doesn't know the difference between the two.

Thanks,

Keith
