Most of your questions are answered in the CCM 3.3 Design Guide , here,

There are limitations, Route patterns, device pools, regions and partitions are limited by the amount of memory they consume in total together. Generally you may have several thousand of each. You can monitor CCM virtual memory in Perfmon to see how much room you have. You have 2G to work with.

CSS's have a limitation that the partition names that they contain is limited to 1024 bytes. So this limits the number of partitions you can have in a single CSS. For example: if you use 2-character names for partitions you can have 1024/2 = 512 partitions.

If you use 256 character names for partitions you can only have 4 partitions.

Gateways are limited by the number of locations: 500 per cluster.
