Using IP phones to function as paging system

Is it possible to set up an overhead paging type system to use the IP phones as speakers? Basically what our customer wants is when the appropriate access code is dialed they want to have their voice broadcasted over all the speakers on the IP phones. Is this possible?

You will need a third party solution. I love Berbee www.berbee.com. They have a nice and easy product to use. Here is my contact guy if you need it:

I am using an application ZonePage (NIPA) and it worked very well for us (page-ing to the phone set was one of our main requirements). I looked at other applications at the time but this one pages in real-time (other work on record/play scenario).
