Using SRST router as back-up of CME router

Hello all,

In a brabch office a customer want to use 2 routers for WAN redundancy. I plan to configure one router as CME/CUE. Can I use the second router as SRST of the LAN connected CME ?

Do do that, a specific command need to be entered on the cme in order to modify the cnf file in order to allow IP phone to switch to SRST if it looses connexion with the cme.

I do not find any exemple or text telling me that it is a possible solution, not the contrary;;;

Rgds

Re: Using SRST router as back-up of CME router

SRST is for call manager and SRST info sent to phone from config pushed down by call manager, so I'm pretty sure SRST is not a option in CME environment.

What you could most likely do is get CME licenses for both routers and use HSRP. Have not tested this myself.
