VG 224 FXS Cable distance

According to the documentation - The maximum distance is established by a total allowable loop resistance, including the phone or

terminal equipment, of 600 ohms.

Does anyone have an idea of what this traslates to in meters? What is the longest you have tried?

Re: VG 224 FXS Cable distance

Hi Benjamin,

A good rule of thumb is that on 26AWG wire,on average, there is 440 ohms per mile.(sorry I didn't do the conversion to metric but approx. 440 ohms per 1.5km)

We have run an analog line from a vg248 1km no problem and I'm sure that I read somewhere that it could actually go approx. 3km (can't find the Cisco doc anymore)

Hope this helps!

Rob
