Hi! I have Unity 3.1.4 and am using Viewmail to listen to voicemail from outlook. I have a firewall between client network and unity (between viewmail and Unity). Which ports do I need to open for Unity to work?
Thanks.

That' actually not supported. Here' a link...

Just search for "firewall" on that page.

Thanks for reply. What I have is not actually a firewall, it's ACLs. Do you know what the problem is? Does it use dynamic ports, or is there something specific for firewalls? Thanks again.

That doc's referral to "firewall" would encompass ACLs as well. So, this is actually still not supported. Yeah, out of the box, DCOM is going to dynamically use ports. That behavior can be changed. Here's a link to a Microsoft white paper on the subject matter of DCOM and "firewalls"...

Please bear in mind, that I am by no means recommending that you make any changes that are represented in this document. I'm providing the link to give a general idea of how the DCOM stuff works. If you do try these things out, be careful, you're on your own. If there are problems, we won't be able to help out.
