Voice and data

I have a deployment where we have 9 building connected by wireless. The network is connected in bridge mode, so in the main building we are going to install a Cisco 2851 Voice Bundle w/ PVDM2-48,FL-CCME-96,SP Serv,64F/256D

with E1 card VWIC-1MFT-E1

My problem is: Which is the best option for doing Voice QoS?

Can I create 2 different VLAN's? How is the best way for QoS in Cisco?

I'm going to use SCCP protocol and 7902,7911 and 7941 telephones.

regards

Re: Voice and data

you'll want to create at least one separate vlan for voice traffic only.

the IOS you have will support many QoS features.

depending on the speed of your wireless connections you have a few options for how to configure your QoS.

some basic steps should include:

1) marking voice packets at the source; (server or switch port)

2) markinng voice signaling packets

3) allow cos trusts where applicable

4) determine and implement queuing techniques: cbwfq, llq, mqc

(auto QoS may be a good way to start for ease of admin if you're not familiar with QoS config)
