voice integration

I have a small network of 50 users which is in a single domain (windows 2003) with an exchange server as the mail server. there is no layer 3 switch in the network. all the switches are catalyst 2950. I want to implement ip telphony with voice mail, ivr and unified messaging. There is no epabx at present. With minimum changes how can I integrate voice in to the present network. Please mention the switches, routers, E1 modules required. can i use the exisitng 2950 switches? All the users are in a single vlan. no need to support mobile users and branch office. The users may increase up to 250. pease suggest a solution giving switches to be used routers to be used and the phones .at present the network is wired by cat 5 cabling.looking for a solution.

Re: voice integration

Hi, if you're going to use unified messaging (UM) you'll need a solution with call manager (without UM you could you use Call Manager Express for the number of users you have).

So, you'll need:

- Call Manager: 2 servers MCS-7815 in a cluster configuration (1 publisher and 1 subscriber) and the CCM software, 4.2 version.

- Gateway: You can use a Cisco 2801 with an E1 and the necessary DSPs (PVDM2-64)

- LAN: you can use your 2950 without problems. You'll have to configure a voice VLAN (see url

- UM: Unity (voice mail and unified messaging)

- Phones: I'll probably use 7911G mainly and some units of other superior models like 7961G or 7970G.

For more information you can see the srnd guide (very good guide):
