There should be no problem as VoIP is open standards architechture. Unless 3com is doing something proprietary. The problem with any multi-vendor solution is support. It's difficult to identify where the problem lies when there's various vendors products involved. You'll get good at learning the different debugs and troubleshooting techniques. Call Cisco firat and have them look over the Cisco configs and run some debugs and tests. They should be able to validate the Cisco setup for you.
