VoIP- linking 2 Lucent PBX's

I have two geographically remote sites , each with a Lucent Definity PBX, I'm getting a 2Mbps E1 circuit to connect the two sites and I have two 3660 routers to do this. I need to carry data and voice (50/50)and was considering the VWIC-2MFT-E1 for this. Does anyone know if this is possible and how I do it !.

I'm told that the PBX can connect Q931 but this is my first voice project !.

I know I can carry the leased 2Mbps line but am at a loss for the voice connection detail.

help.

Re: VoIP- linking 2 Lucent PBX's

You need to find out what signalling types the PBX supports. Q931 (ISDN) is preferably the way to go. Also what kind of a card is in the PBX, a T1 or an E1. If it is an E1 and your Data is also an E1 then you can use the VWIC, but you need to put the VWIC in an NM-HDV, because the NM-HDV has the DSP's on board which are needed to transcode and pass over IP.

You can use one port on the VWIC for your data and the other port for the ISDN pri connection to the PBX.

Hope this helps.
