Voip+Security

Hi,

Does anyone know that is it possible to eaves-drop

voip packet with any networking tools ???

If so, is there any security tools to solve this problem ? How about VPN ?

thanks

Re: Voip+Security

Over the LAN - Voice traffic over the LAN could technically be sniffed if you had a network analyzer directly on the switch port (not likely). However, even if you had the packets I don't know what that would get you.

Over the WAN - Typically IP Voice over the WAN is transmitted using VPN tunnels or other point to point connections (T1's for instance). This eliminates the eaves-drop problem.

Hope this helps.
