VOIP trunk call setup takes long time

I have a PIX 525, recently installed, passing through data and VOIP traffic. latency is noticable for VOIP traffic, it used to be faster for outbound trunk calls. is this a normal behavior for a call setup if it is going through a router/firewall? or does it seem to be firewall issue(which is working very good for data.)

PIX will have to decode the ASN.1 RAS information, so there will besome extra latency if the connection is based on h.323
