I have gone through the link sent by you and also i got much information on the link given below.

In the Data sheets of the SC2200, the Cisco's SS7 Interconnect for Access Servers solution, the SC2200 is shown outside of the PSTN and IP backbone. I would like to know that is this implemented at the Backbone side or the PSTN service provider?
