vt advantage problems with 7970 and ipcommunicator

hi!! everybody...

l have a problem, l have to coexist the ip phone 7940, 7960, 7970 and ip communicator(version 2.0.1.1), with vt advantage, but it isn't working fine.

l checked on ccm, badwidth, region, firmware and l think that all it's OK

l did some test with the past version of vt advantage 1.0.2 and all work fine except the ipcommunicator, but the problem is that the ipcommunicator need the vt advantage version 2.0.1a for work video and the results with this version at follow:

ip phones video

7960 7960 ok

7960 ipcom ok

ipcom ipcom ok

7960 7970 fail

7970 ipcom fail

7970 7970 fail

now!!! the problem is the 7970

and l did some test with the new version of vt advantage 2.0.2 and it doesn't work fine

Hi Karina,

Maybe you are hitting this bug that effects 7970 phones with VT Advantage, have a look it seems like the latest 7970 firmware fixes the problem;

Symptom:

CUVA 2.0(1) does not work with combination of 7941/7961/7970/7971 phones and CCM 4.1(3)/4.1(3)sr2

The problem does not occur in CCM 4.2 and CCM 5.0

The problem also does not occur when a 7940/7960 Phone is swapped in place of the 7970 - pointing more than likely towards a Phone problem

Conditions:

CUVA 2.0(1) with CCM 4.1(3)/4.1(3)sr2 with 7941, 7961, 7970 or 7971 phones.

Workaround:

Upgrade IP Phone to the latest firmware found in CCO.

797x phone firmware:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-7900ser. Tested with 'cmterm-7970-7971-sccp.8-0-3.zip'.

7941/7961 phone firmware:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-7900ser. Tested with 'cmterm-7941-7961-sccp.8-0-3.zip'

the problem was solve with the latest version of 7970 firmware (sccp.8-0-3), l did some test with all phones and the vt advantage work fine.
