Wave drivers/devices?

Hey all,

I just built a Unity 3.1 box on a Cisco MCS platform. Call Manager version is 3.2. The Unity box was built using the platform config. disks included with the server.

The build went fine, Unity services start normally. I then install the TSP (ver. 6.02) and it installs fine and even tests fine communicating with the Call Manager box. I then reboot the Unity server to update the wave driver. When the box comes back up and I go back and test the TSP, it says "No wave devices were found on the system. The wave driver is either not installed correctly or the computer needs to be rebooted to update its configuration."

I already HAVE rebooted. I've rebooted 10 times in a row, I still get the error. What's more, when I check the port configuration in Unity SAWeb Admin, it shows no ports, and I'm getting a fast busy when I dial in to Unity from an IP phone, even though CM is configured and we have good communications (as evidenced by the TSP test) with the CM box.

So here are my questions:

- First off, what exactly does a Wave Driver do? What is a wave device?

- Second, How do I fix this and enable unity and the CM box to talk?

- Third, Why don't any voice ports show up in Unity?

Now before you direct me to any docs, I've already read the CM 3.2 integration guide at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_unity/unity31/integuid/callma32/cm32_312/itcicmip.htm. Unfortunately, it didn't help.

Any chance you applied Win2K SP3? There's a field notice out that sounds pretty close to what you're seeing:

Yes! We are running Win2K SP3!

I can't access that field notice. I get a 404 every time I use that URL. Do you have another one? I really want to read this. . .
