what is endpoint, gw or e164-id or h323-id?

A conceptual question:

I have a gw with 2 FXS ports, extensions are 6000 and 6001. This GW register with GK. Do we consider the two fxs ports as two endpoints or the gw is the only endpoint? In other word, how is endpoint defined in the gw/gk world?

GK−A#show gatekeeper

E164−ID: 6000

E164−ID: 6001

Total number of active registrations = 1

Thanks

Re: what is endpoint, gw or e164-id or h323-id?

The gateway is the endpoint. "show gatekeeper endpoints" shows the gateways registered to the gatekeeper. The total number of registrations is 1 in your example. Also, see the following link for confirmation.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
