I usually refrain to make comments about the work of my former coworkers at Cisco product testing, but this one is too much worth noting. From IOS 12.4(11)XJ4 release notes:
CSCsj03494 I/O Memory corruption crash with IP communicator and 7961 IP Phones
Symptom A 2811 series router may crash due to I/O memory corruption.
Conditions Router running CME 4.1 with 12.4.11.XJ3 image and using IP communicator and/or IP phones
Workaround Stop using IP phones or IP communicator.

Hi Paolo,
That is an "interesting" workaround to say the least :) I guess we all have bad days!
Take care,
Rob

Too funny!
When was it fixed?
Currently running CME 4.0.2...need to upgrade and contemplating 4.1 or 4.2.
I'm leaning towards 12.4(15)T, but have no real reasoning other than I can't really be running this particular network as a test bed.
Any thoughts?

Hi,
12.4(11)XJ4, that is OK, I have many installs.
Kudos to Rob for his new star color!

To give credit where credit is due:
I did what I should have done before, and used the "bug feedback" to mention the issue to Cisco. After few hours, I received the following email:
Thank you for raising this to our attention. I have pulled the bug for review and notified the bug owners.
