I have a CallManager 4.2 in place with 7941s throughout. My time on the phone is not correct, although in my Time/Date area on CallManager, it specifies the correct timezone and time on the server appears to be correct. Can anyone tell me how to get the time correct on these phones and where that would be located in CM? Thanks.
use the ccmAdmin>system>date/time group configuration.
verify your ccm windows has the correct date/time/zone.
also, certain loads on some phones caused incorrect time. if all is configured correctly, try a different load. (up or down)
Are you checking the time on all the servers in the cluster? Which server is that phone registered to, does it show the correct time.
Are you using NTP with the CCM's?
A SCCP device will send a TimeDateReq packet to CCM and the CCM will respond with a DefineTimeDate packet which includes the current date/time and the phone can use the new time to keep in sync with CCM (ie. compensate for any drift since its previous DefineTimeDate request).

The interval at which a SCCP sends the TimeDateReq may vary by device type/model.
Here are a few of the known intervals/times.
Third-gen-phones (7970/61/41/etc) resync around 3:15am daily.
A 7970/71, 7941/61, or 7911 that is not used for an extended period of time may show a different time compared to other 7940/60s registered to the same CallManager. It may be a few minutes behind.
Phone not used for an extended period of time
None. When the phone is taken off-hook, the date and time will be synchronized with the CallManager
Use latest phone load.
7912/05s are random.
7920 resyncs at 3am.
Other phones models/types may vary.
I'm having a similar problem in CCM5.04 , my ip phones are 7912,7920,7960 and 7941.
My timezone is GMT-1 and i have configured an NTP server in OS administration. I see the correct time in OS administration but in IP phones i didn't see correct time and i have configured in CCM administration GMT-1.
If i change for example in CCM for GMT+0 ip phones show correct time. I have tested with some other GMT references and it seems to be ok.
Well this might not help, but we had an issue like this one, but just with some user, IP-Phone showed incorrect time. It turned out they were assigned to another Device Pool in which Time Date group were wrong. So you may check this too.
i have the same issue with the IP Communicator and 7970 in Spanish Locale.
The issue seems to be a BUG that was resolved with the last Firmware, but all the words like ? ? and so was presented like garbage, so i preffer the wrong time :S
the only way was make a new Dev Pool with a new Date/Time and a "try and error" search for the correct GTM-X
