I now that the Call Manager servers exchange CDP informaiton with other Cisco devices. Does anyone know if this function can be added to other WIndows servers without having to install Call Manager. I am thinking it could beuseful with soem of my core servers.
We've written a small application (~400k) for use on a Windows, Zaurus, and Solaris to support CDP on the host side (recv only). This application will report the Device Id, Address, and connected port of the device its attached. We're also in the process of adding functionality which would allow the host to send cdp info so you could view it from the switch.
